“There are unknown unknowns” - Donald Rumsfeld

This is a quasi problem of mine with the central question that “if there are unknown unknowns, how do I manage to make some of those known unknowns”. In that framing, this problem is unsolvable as the fact that they are unknown renders any attempts at a solution nonsensical. I see it more as an optimisation problem and I will now re-frame it in a different way:

Given my current knowledge levels how do I expose myself to as many new perspectives as possible such that my “unknowns” are exposed and I can reach a less ignorant version of my current self?

I think this framing is better because it’s actionable - I can work towards something that attempts to expose more of my flawed models. I intend to write more about this later.
