“Forgive me father, for I have synthed”
This album came out only a few hours ago as I am writing this, and I am glad that I was an early listener for this one. I had heard about a new King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard (KGLW) album coming out for a while now and was waiting eagerly for this. The singles released weeks (and one around a month) ago were nice and I was excited for the direction this new album was going. I knew that it was going to be sonically similar to The Silver Cord. I didn’t think that that album was gizz’s best work, but I knew that this one was going to be different based on the single Level 5 released in July. I absolutely loved the synths. Even after release, my favorite from the album is still Level 5, maybe followed by Atomic Collapse or Superheavy, Supercritical. I like this new direction they’ve taken with this; and I will be watching the live shows, waiting for Level 5’s debut!
My thoughts on this album are more verbose than “usual” because the album’s fresh in my memory right now :)
